Kia ora, I’m Greg Allen. I grew up in Omarama, North Otago, and now call Leeston home, where my wife and I are raising our three kids.

Before starting GC Hoist, I spent 16 years in the New Zealand Defence Force, with the last decade or so focused on general engineering and earning my diploma in mechanical engineering. That background taught me the value of doing things properly, safely, and without shortcuts.

GC Hoist was inspired by my brother’s success with Allens Hoists in Tasmania, where he delivers and installs car hoists and workshop equipment across Australia. Following in those footsteps, we’re proud to offer the same level of quality and reliability here in Christchurch and Canterbury.

We’re a small, family‑run business — just the two of us — which means you always know who you’re dealing with. We focus on car‑hoist installation, servicing, and workshop equipment setup, backed by the support and technical expertise of Australia’s largest hoist support team.
